Yet another great premise that went down the drain. I’m in the middle of watching Ghost right now, on episode 14 exactly, and I’m already writing this because I am bored out of my mind. Here’s the plot :

Kim Woo-Hyun leads the cyber investigation team and works to take down an illegal international gambling website. South Korea, Hong Kong and China all cooperate to arrest those involved with the website at the same time. When Kim Woo-Hyun and his team raid the location of the site, the data is destroyed by a program set up by Hades. Nevertheless, Kim Woo-Hyun and his team uses a traceroute to locate Hades.

Meanwhile, an online rumor spreads about a sex scandal involving popular actress Shin Hyo-Jung (Esom). Shin Hyo-Jung leaves the message “I want to die” on her twitter account and then kills herself by jumping out of her apartment. Kim Woo-Hyun and Detective Yoo Gang-Mi (Lee Yeon-Hee), still following the path of Hades, arrives at the actresses apartment and takes her laptop, which Hades hacked.

In the basement parking lot, Detective Yoo Gang-Mi runs into Reporter Park Gi-Young (Daniel Choi). Park Gi-Young asks Detective Yoo Gang-Mi if she is sure actress Shin Hyo-Jung’s last tweet was indeed posted by the actress herself? There seems to be a rumour that her last tweet was not actually posted by herself. Detective Yoo Gang-Mi later checks actress Shin Hyo-Jung’s laptop and discovers that the tweet was not posted from her laptop. The cyber investigation team now believes another person may have been there when the actress died.

Seems interesting enough right? But unfortunately for those watching it, the director and the writers completely lose control of the script. The characters lost their credibility (movies and dramas already require the watchers to abandon the use of logic but this one took it to the maximum)

Kwak Do-Won as Kwon Hyuk-Joo is a complete mess. He is quite the opposite of what a so called successful detective is. If he doesn’t like someone he cuffs them without checking evidence or logic or even using his brains. And this honestly makes me mute the scenes where he appears and just wait till he is done shouting like a local drunk.

Lee Yeon-Hee as Yoo Gang-Mi is one of the reasons I started watching the show. A strong female character always reels me in. Unfortunately she’s just female. There isn’t any strong or character there to make her a worthy character after the first few episodes.

So Ji-Sub playing both Kim Woo-Hyun and Park Gi-Young is another fail. For an expert hacker he can’t figure out anything and leaves evidence lying around randomly. He can’t even recover something that was deleted with the delete button. Hacker? Pah!

All in all an entire fail as a TV show. These so called top detectives spend more time running around looking for a culprit in the building that thinking “Hey, I’m in the security office, why can’t I look at all these CCTV cameras just recording everything right here in front of my face.” Nope, instead they get angry and break their walkie talkies.

*Slow Claps*

I’ll tweet what I think after I finish this show. I’m finishing it because I clearly hate myself. Waste.
