Synopsis : When a mysterious package is delivered to Robin Ellacott, she is horrified to discover that it contains a woman’s severed leg.
Her boss, private detective Cormoran Strike, is less surprised but no less alarmed. There are four people from his past who he thinks could be responsible–and Strike knows that any one of them is capable of sustained and unspeakable brutality.
With the police focusing on the one suspect Strike is increasingly sure is not the perpetrator, he and Robin take matters into their own hands, and delve into the dark and twisted worlds of the other three men. But as more horrendous acts occur, time is running out for the two of them…
Career of Evil is the third in the highly acclaimed series featuring private detective Cormoran Strike and his assistant Robin Ellacott. A fiendishly clever mystery with unexpected twists around every corner, it is also a gripping story of a man and a woman at a crossroads in their personal and professional lives.
Ah, Cormoran Strike and Robin Ellacott. How I love these two. I preordered this the second I found out it was coming out. The book starts with the usual suspects, his evil past, her asshole of a fiancé and the complications that life throws at you when it really shouldn’t. I really don’t know how to review this book because I don’t think Galbraith’s books need reviewing. They can be relied on to be great. And that’s just what this book was, great. I love how it isn’t cliché and overtly romantic and oohs and aahs with the chemistry.
The ending. Oh god the ending. How brilliant was that? I won’t spoil it for you in case you haven’t read it but YOU WILL NOT SEE IT COMING. I’ll tell you that much. And I love how awesome Robin is in this book. And how tragic it is. I’m not writing a review. I just want to say that this is awesome, as all Cormoran Strike books are. And you will love it.
Let me know if you’ve read it and we can fangirl/fanboy together.
